Product Description

Primer EP-PU is an adhesion promoter dissolved in a mixture of volatile alcohols that, once applied, help the drying process. The product works by creating a bonding bridge because bind chemically to the substrate and the adhesive that will cover it.

Field of Application

· Bonding promoter for the grip of two-component epoxy-polyurethane adhesives.

· Bonding promoter for surfaces that are non-porous such as marble, ceramic, gres, palladian and terrazzo tiles.

· Bonding promoter for vitreous surfaces such as glass mosaic and glass.

· Bonding promoter for metal surfaces such as iron, steel and aluminum sheets.

COVERAGE / CONSUMPTION

The consumption of PRIMER EP-PU depends on the absorption and porosity of the substrate. Typical consumption is between 300 and 400 gr/m².

Application Procedure

Preparation of substrate

Substrates must be dry, solid and clean. Wax must be removed from the floor chemically or mechanically.
Chemical wax removal: dissolve 1 kg of sodium hydroxide in 10 liters of hot water. Carefully wash the floor with a normal cloth and brush. Rinse using the same method mentioned above, using water acidified with muriatic acid, 1 liter in 10 liters of cold water. The last rinse is carried out using pure water. The next day, verify the removal of the wax before to applying the product. Mechanical wax removal: sand the surface with coarse grained sand paper until it is evenly roughened. Vacuum clean the dust and then apply the primer.

Preparing the product

Ready to be used.

Applying the product

Slightly wet a cotton cloth with Primer KL and rub it on the surface. Abundant applications are not recommended. The thinner the film deposited the better the product performs. This is the reason why only one coat is applied. As soon as the product dries approximately 10 minutes depending on the conditions the adhesive must be applied.
